A small-town boy with a big voice…
JR Charron is a country/rock performer and songwriter known to combine old & new school country influences with powerful, gritty rock vocals. JR’s debut EP Impression (2020) made waves with “Song for You”, which landed in the Top 10 on the Canadian Indie Country Charts, followed by his second single, “Broke”, charting in the Top 50.
An established writer and performer, JR found success on CBC Searchlight with his self-released single, “This Train”, and, alongside his former band Jump The Clutch, landed in the Top 15 on iTunes country music charts with “Day Worth Living For”. Adding to the accolades, JR took home the 2022 Manitoba Country Music Award for Fans’ Choice complete with a performance of “Who You’re Gonna Be” (released to radio in early 2023); his heartfelt & emotionally driven new single that shares a softer side of the family man.
Coming off a record summer, Charron Released his new single “Killin’ Frost” live (and to Canadian radio) to a packed house at Dauphin’s Countryfest. Most recently, JR celebrated five Manitoba Country Music Award nominations including both ‘Song and Single of the Year’, ‘Male Artist’, ‘Interactive Artist’ and ‘Fans’ Choice’. As well as a trip to the Canadian Country Music Awards for two showcases.
With a commanding voice and high-intensity live show, JR continues to captivate audiences and engage new listeners.
